Jane Saunders In His Hands

I cried all the way home.

I'd just been to the Christian bookshop near my parents' house, where I'd finally bought Jane Saunders' CD In His Hands, and her sweet, pure voice filled the car.

She sang about a little girl coming to Jesus at the age of 7, and I thought about my daughter and cried. She sang about her grandma's death, and I thought about my children's Poppa and cried. She sang, "When I go, don't cry for me" and, well, I cried.

Here's the lyrics from Little Lamb, one of the songs which made me cry, written by her friend, Colin Buchanan:

Little lamb she hears the song
She's seven and she sings along
The words just keep on spinning through her mind
Later on that very day
In a precious deep and simple way
She calls to Jesus come into my life

Throw the gates of heaven open
Sing you angels sing
Little lamb was lost but now
she's coming in
She's coming in to Jesus

Little lamb she can feel
The Shepherd's there and he is real
Hearing every single word she prays
She brings her little sack of sin
And faith and casts it all on him
And all the wonder as he hears her prayer

Throw the gates of heaven open
Sing you angels sing
Little lamb was lost but now
she's coming in
She's coming in to Jesus

You still marvel little lamb
At how your life with him began
Forty years and you've never been alone
You know that the time will come
And he will call his little one
And as he promised he will take you home

Throw the gates of heaven open
Sing you angels sing
Little lamb was lost but now
she's coming in
She's coming in to Jesus
I won't review the album, because Nicole has already done an excellent job - you can read her review here. But I do encourage you to buy it! I can't remember falling in love so quickly with a Christian CD in years.

I fell in love with this one straight away too - and I still cry when I listen to it (I've had it for a year now)!

It's great, isn't it? Such a lovely voice and beautiful songs! It's hard to know if crying every time you hear something is a recommendation or not! But it's a great CD.

Well, I think its a recommendation - but there are many who would not agree with me there!

They don't know what they're missing. ;)

I fell in love with it straight away too - Nicole had reviewed it (given it the thumbs up), and then I heard Jane herself sing "Give Me Jesus" and had to buy the CD. So glad I did. My husband doesn't like it though - he reckons its too girly.

We have just given our CD away to our foster baby's biological parents for them to hear, and to settle her when she's distressed. Lovely gentle songs with real content. So now we'll try to buy another CD for next foster baby. Wendy
